February’s Workflow Tips
February’s Workflow Wise Tips: Workflows, websites and mindset, all in one place:
Workflow Wise Tip #32 – Google docs has voice transcription – Tools>voice typing.
Workflow Wise Tip #33 – Second perk of turning a pdf into a linkable google doc is that the document is easier to change when you need to.
Workflow Wise Tip #34 – ALWAYS get a deposit before you start work. Don’t make a big deal about it, it’s just your standard operating procedure AS STATED IN YOUR CONTRACT.
Workflow Wise Tip #35 – Credit card authorization forms are your friend. They’re also good customer service. They don’t have to worry about paying you, ‘cause you already have their card.
Workflow Wise Tip #36 – Rule #1 of self care is to acknowledge what you’re already doing in terms of self care. Exercise, diet, eating lunch away from your desk, etc.
Workflow Wise Tips #37 – Rule #2 of self care is to acknowledge how much you do at work every day, so you deserve some self-care.
Workflow Wise Tip #38 – Rule #3 of self care is to be honest about how much you CAN do every day.
Workflow Wise Tip #39 – #thingsforgottenoncontracts – YOUR phone number.
Workflow Wise Tip #40 – Delegation tip – make a video of you doing the thing you want to delegate, step by step. #askmehow
Workflow Wise Tip #41 – You can always adjust your rate to cover the credit card processing costs.
Workflow Wise Tip #42 – Credit card processing fees can be tax deductible. Check with your state.
Workflow Wise Tip #43 – #delegating. Start small. There’s a whole list of stuff you want to get off your plate, but start with the least complicated. Less stress for you and for them. #askmehow
Workflow Wise Tip #44 – #delegating – each task needs a where, when and how. Where is it done and how do they access it, when is the deadline for getting it done, and how, specifically, you need it done. Break it down.
Workflow Wise Tip #45 – Try to get one meal away from your desk. Or at the very least with the laptop closed.
Workflow Wise Tip #46 – Meeting someone? Put their phone number in your calendar, too, along with the meeting location.
Workflow Wise Tip #47 – If you update your prices, take 10 minutes to check that they’re updated EVERYWHERE – contracts, website, automatic emails, etc. Thanks @prolificbanana for the reminder!
Workflow Wise Tip #48 – Speaking of office hours, if you have them you should put those on your website, too.
Workflow Wise Tip #49 -Heads up and a hand up from Google – links in google docs automatically open up into a new tab. Cool, huh?
Work Wise Tip #50. I love the Pomodoro productivity technique. Set an alarm for 25 minutes and focus on finishing ONE task. Try it.
Work wise Tip #51 – Being overwhelmed with work IS a blessing, true, but like the blessing of having kids or dogs, you still need to carefully manage it so it stays a blessing, ya know?
Workflow Wise Tip #52 – Keep your website links and blog names simple and descriptive. www.yoursite/services vs. www.yoursite.com/helpishere #goodseo
Workflow Wise Tip #53- Make the phone number on your website call-able, not copy and paste-able. I forgot to say that last month!
Workflow Wise Tip #54- Plan for at least one day away from your computer. It’s good for you.
Workflow Wise Tip # 55 – If you need to resize a picture, duplicate it and resize the copy.
Workflow Wise Tip #56 – If you’re using a scheduling app (Calendly, Accuity etc.) put a 15-30 minute buffer between your available times.
Workflow Wise Tip #57 – Post all your new content in ALL the places – linkedin, instagram, facebook, twitter. You know you’re not doing it.
Workflow Wise Tip #58 – #nonbatcher hack – keep a list of the times to post on social media near and dear to you.
Workflow Wise Tip #59 – On Instagram, Profile >3 bars on top right >Insights>Audience >Followers to see when YOU get the most views on your feed. Post accordingly.
Wise Tip #60 – #nonbatcherhack – There’s no point in giving yourself a hard time, just accept how long it takes you to do it one at a time. Plan accordingly.
