On Fridays I bring you my four favorite work-life integration tips, tricks and downright coolness that I’ve come across this week. And we call it Four for Friday. Welcome!
The Hack I Used Immediately
Mindy Marzec at Joy Social – STOP Auto-Posting Instagram to Facebook (Do This Instead). How to make your insta posts show up on your Facebook feed without the out-of-context hashtags. Mindy’s the best.
The Book I’m Loving This Week
When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing, by Daniel H. Pink. Timing may not be everything, but it definitely helps. I’ve learned why you should schedule doctor’s appointments (and court appearances) in the morning, work breaks every couple of hours, avoid starting big projects in the afternoon, and other scientifically based-time hacks to improve your day. The one I tried this week? Drinking a glass of water BEFORE I grab a cup of coffee. So far, it’s feeling pretty good.
I found this on100 Layer Cake, and it was like, “Oh, you can do the napkin that way!” I know, I’m probably late. But the napkin and the plate and gold silverware is just perfection, perfection. This wedding in Cabo was styled and coordinated by Amy Abbot Events with Florals by Pina Cate. Go to 100 Layer Cake for pictures of the whole wedding, it’s gorgeous.
The Hack I’ve Been Using For A While
CoSchedule Blog – What 23 Studies Say About The Best Times To Post On Social Media. I’ve been using this as a guide for a few months to pretty good success. There’s a lot of facts and figures at the top, but scroll down for the best times to post on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc. It speaks more to human nature that it does to algorithms, which is what I like.
