Are you ready to be OOO?

The season for leaving is here. Are you ready to be OOO - Out of the Office?

If you're planning to be out of range for a while—whether for business, a vacation, or just a few days—it's important that your CRM is in good shape before you leave.

Here are four things you should check or change before you go:

1. Alert your current clients - Make sure they know that you're leaving, if and how they can reach you if there's an emergency, and (especially) what constitutes an emergency. Bonus: This is also a great opportunity to create an email template you can edit and use the next time you leave.

2. Set up automated inquiry responses—If you are away for an extended period, set up automated OOO responses to your contact form inquiries. Honeybook and Dubsado can send OOO responses. See how to set it up in Honeybook here.

3. Block off the time in your CRM calendar. Go to whichever online calendar - ical, Google, etc. - your appointment scheduler is pulling from, and check that your vacation days are marked as unavailable.

4. Delegate tasks to your team—Before you leave, assign all necessary upcoming tasks to your team members. You can do this in Honeybook or your CRM, too. Don't let anything slip through the cracks while you're away!
