How to Keep Personalization In Your Automation

"I don't want my clients to think that they're talking to a robot", I kept over the past two weeks. "If I let an automation respond for me, there's no personal touch." Won't personalization get lost? There's a big fear that if you give it over to the "machine" there's no way to distinguish yourself from anyone else. Couple of things with this:

You control the autoresponse it does not control you.

Your automation  can sound as much like you as you want. You don't have to stick to the website/CRM/calendar app template. Personalization is easy  - write the response in your own words using your own style. In other words, it is you because it sounds like you.Read: Automation is For Closers

You can quit at any time.

Some of my clients like to use automation throughout their booking and fulfillment process. They set up an automated workflow that goes from >inquiry>send brochure/questionnaire>schedule appointment>send the contract all without taking a breath. Other people prefer to reply with a personal emails right after the inquiry comes through. It all depends on what you feel comfortable with and how you want to run your business - there's no right answer. BUT, you should explore what's possible, and take advantage of what's honestly going to save you time and stress. You can change your mind at any time.

You're already automating your business.

However you get an inquiry now, the odds are that you don't start from scratch when you respond. You don't write up a contract from scratch every time. You might pull up the last response you sent to the last prospect, the last contract,  and change the details, but you don't start with a blank slate. And  that's automation. So, what's the point of signing up with a client management or email management system? Quality control - you know the right information is going into the right place. But the biggest thing is that it saves a LOT of time. You don't have to worry that you're behind on answering inquiries or sending out invoices because you can set up your system to do it for you. You don't have to go back and forth to schedule appointments, you send them a link to your calendar and it's done. Faster to get booked, faster to get paid and faster to get to work. Online automation is the best tool to make your business workflow easier to control and scale as you grow. And that's why we're all here, isn't it?How can I help you personalize your automation?
