The Efficient Creative Challenge - August 5-9

Efficient creativeIt's the first thing I hear from every creative I talk to - "This could be going better." Working faster, taking less time, cutting down the steps from point a to point b to point "paid" to point "work." Or any of the points after that.  How do you make your business more efficient? And even though you're managing to pull it off, you're so busy that you don't have the time to figure out how to change any of it. Or the time to pick a time to figure it out. So nothing changes, and the struggles remain. We're fixers. We all started our creative businesses to produce the best and most beautiful products, to provide the best service - we got into this to please others, sure, but to satisfy ourselves, too. But the "business" side of the business can get tricky, that way. And as Shuri once said, "Just because something works, doesn't mean that it can't be improved." And if it's not working, it definitely needs to be improved, and you can't unsee it.What if I could give you an easy 25 minute task, once a day, that will help you streamline your business? What if I could give you a forum to ask any questions you have about streamlining your business?Do you think think your business efficiency sucks? Take 25 minutes over five days to improve it.

The Efficient Creative Challenge

August 5-9 in National Simplify Your Life Week. For us, the biggest part of simplifying our lives is simplifying our business practices. The Efficient Creative 5 Day Challenge tackles the five blocks creatives face in trying to make improve their business workflow. The challenge will consist of email prompts, with daily videos hosted on my new Facebook group page, Workflow for Creative Pros, each day at 11:30am PST:

Day 1 - Monday August 5 - Prep

Martha Stewart calls it "assembling your materials."A.A. Milne said that "Organizing is the thing you do before you do something, so when you do it, it's not all mixed up." How to easily access the passwords for the online apps and websites you use the most, and that affect your business the most. We've all been caught flat-footed, trying to sign up, or sign out or hook up to something, but we've forgotten a password, and have to spend the time to retrieve it, or worse change it again. No more scrambling.

Day 2 - Tuesday, August 6 - Email

Creating templates. Organizing folders. And, the best way to unsubscribe to unwanted emails in one sitting.

Day 3 - Wednesday, August 7th. Communication.

Setting up a business number so you don't have to give out your home or cell phone. Skype vs. Zoom vs. Google Hangout. Setting up video conferencing and computer screen-sharing.Read: How Scheduling Apps Will SAVE YOU.

Day 4 - Thursday, August 8th. Scheduling

Going back and forth on emails to schedule a time to talk or meet is time-consuming and confusing. We'll talk about how using apps like Calendly and Acuity solves that's problem, how to set them up to work for you, and how and where to use them.

Day 5 -Friday, August 9. Q&A
